Restauration Mosaïques |
With the help of the Rempart firm, the "association de mise en valeur du Château de Coucy" organizes yearly conservation workshop: stone cutting, ironwork, etc.
The mosaic conservation workshops' objectives are focused since 2006 on a nineteenth century pavement in the city of Coucy. The preservation treatments are happening periodically under the direction of Laurence Krougly and Magdalena Monraval. Layouts (on a 1/1 scale) were done and the pavement was removed in many pieces.
The original support was removed and the pannels were progressively transfered on honeycomb supports, assembled and then the gaps were filled by tessellae reintegration or by using mortars.
